(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I am planning on applying new thermal paste on my ps3 slim and i was wondering whats the best method to apply the paste , i was looking around and some people say to spread it out evenly and some say to apply a pea size amount in the middle , what do you guys think ? I will be using Artic Silver 5 btw

Smash it on the ground, that way you can easily open your ps3. Then apply thermal paste on all the metal parts you see.

Just put it in the middle and let the heat sink spread it when you put it back together. If you try to spread it by yourself you run the risk of getting air pockets. (Not likely but it can happen)

Use those 2 methods , spray evenly and put some more in the middle

Uh that would be a horrible idea. You'd be putting way too much of the stuff on.

I'm using the method of spray it evenly and it is not that good in my opinion xd

I have put a thin line down the middle and spread it out evenly. And also done the method with a few small dots scattered around the heatsink.
Both methods worked flawlessly.

spread a thin layer then put a pea in the middle then tighten the screws saw a vid of some guy trying all 3 methods and this one was truly the best outcome
