Is Battlefield 4 the PSN Version or the Disc Version?

If it is the PSN Version you can use a USB just drop the .pkg file on to the root of it and go to install packages. Or you can use FTP and FTP the .pkg file into the PS3 and then install it that way.

If it is the Disc Version again you use a USB and place it in a folder called "GAMES" all capitals and then use a backup manager to play it or you can again FTP it into your PS3 into the following folder "Dev_HDD0" - "GAMES" and again use a backup manager to play it.

As for playing online yes you can but it will be up to you because of the risk of being banned. There is a risk with any CFW you sign in on so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the reply. I have a problem, all my games are in the "game" folder instead of the "GAMES" folder. I have no idea why. You must login or register to view this content. Do you know how i can fix?

That's easy the game folder your referring to is actually where the games install files (Game Data - DLC) or when you install a update this is where it goes.

So these are NOT the full games just the updates/install data you can see this from the PS3 XMB under Game - Game Data Utility.

There is a exception to this and that is PSN games which will be in the "game" folder but NOT Disc games if there is data in there for the Disc version it is simply the update, install data or DLC as mentioned above.

If you are going to mod the games with RTM or anything similar then you would have to replace files in the "game" folder not the folder with the full games in them.

You must login or register to view this content.

Notice in the 2 screen shots that there is a difference in size as you will be able to see 1 is significantly smaller than the other this is because the one that you think is where your games are is not actually the games just the updates, DLC or game install this is why is may be smaller than the actual game (unless DLC or game data is installed in which case it may be more)

Your full game needs to be either installed if it is the PSN version or if it is the Disc version it can go in either of the folders (GAMES or GAMEZ) and it will work just fine.

If I am correct in thinking you downloaded your game (hopefully legitimately because you have the disc and your Blu Ray drive has packed up) then you will either have 1 of these versions.

Battlefield 4 EUR PS3-COLLATERAL
Battlefield 4 PS3-iMARS

If that is the case then these are both rips of the actual disc and need to be placed in your "GAMES or GAMEZ" folder like so.

"GAMES - BLUS31162/BLES01832/BLJM61039/BLAS50588"
"GAMEZ - BLUS31162/BLES01832/BLJM61039/BLAS50588"

Take note of the first screen shot as this is what it may not just be the region code of the game (as you can see mine have there names there as well)

After placing the game into the folder load up the backup manager of your choice and then refresh the games if it is not showing up or it will already be there, then just load it and away you go. Just remember to install updates if your going online and also to remove the "UPDATE" folder from the downloads if there is one.

Apart from that you should be good to go.

If you need any more help I will respond as quickly as I can.

This was by far the best explanation that anyone has ever given me on NGU. Thanks for taking the time to help me out dude. Just to make sure: If i play MW3 on a disc i will not see it in the GAMES folder but if i download the update in order to go online, ill be able to see the update in the "game" folder. And that is the folder that i will need to access in order to do install custom EBOOTS and other things. And if i download games i can directly put them into the GAMES or GAMEZ folder. If i am not correct please let me know. Thanks again man. Your the best at explaining lol.

Yes that is completely correct.

Glad you were able to understand it I was a little worried you may not.

But yes everything you have just said is completely correct.

There is one small addition I should have made which I will mention now and that is SPRX mod menus. I am not sure if you will be using these at any given point but when you download a menu that is in SPRX format there should be instructions with it.

Usually they say to place the SPRX file in the "tmp" folder which is in the same directory as the "game" and "GAMES" folder you have.

Then you would just replace the EBOOT in the game that you would be using the menu on.

I hope that you are able to understand this if not I will try to explain it a little better.

Good luck with everything bud.
