So, you went into Rebug Toolbox and the PS3 rebooted into the recovery mode, asking you to reinstall your firmware?

Just put whichever version of Rebug you were on onto a flash drive & reinstall it. You won't lose any data as long as you don't format the HDD while doing it.

As for why this issue happened, I'm at a loss... The only time I've ran into that problem was when I stupidly tried to play a BluRay movie on DEX firmware. xD
