So it was bugging me all night trying to get my ps3 to work, with me being impatient I probly made it worse as I went on, took a break n did some cooking, dishes n researching, after watching a vid on YouTube for fixing corrupt hard drives, it turned a light on in my head lol. Anyways if your ps3 turns on but can't get a screen to come up even after resetting display options (ps3 turned off, holding power button till it turns off again then turning on) and won't even display the safe mode screen but still have the green light displaying that your system is on and working properly then I got a fix.
What you will need is 2 hard drives:
1 being the one in your system n
2 being one from another system or
any other hard drive that fits in your
ps3
A small Phillips tip screw driver. A flash drive formatted to fat32 and a copy of the ofw or in most cases cfw on the flash drive (on the root of flash drive creat a folder call PS3, in that folder create one called UPDATE all caps. In that folder will b your cfw/ofw)
Remove the hard drive from your ps3 n put in the other hard drive you have(only put 2 screws in, 1 each side opposite ends). Put it back into your ps3 then plug it up n connect to tv. Turn it on n you should come to a menu that displays : System software could not be started properly, press the ps button to reboot , or update hdd with x.xx firmware (the last one you where on b4 it stopped working) etc etc. now plug your USB device into your far right port on your ps3 then press start n select at the same time,. This will make your ps3 start to scan for it, while this is going on look at the front of your ps3 to see if the hdd light is flashing (the yellow hdd light) if not then remove the hard drive you just put it then put your original 1 that wouldn't work back in (again only 2 screws). After some time the ps3 will ask you if you want to format the data utility, press n hold start n select for 5 secs, this will start to reformat your hard drive that removing everything you had on it..(games, dlc's, saves etc). This is ok I'm sure your wanting to get your ps3 working again anyways. After this is done your system will restart n install the firmware you had on your USB. After that's done your system will restart n go into boot setting like it did when you first bought it brand new
Now your non working ps3 is fixed, once again this works for when you turn your ps3 on get no screen after all other reset options has been tried n your power light indicated stays green, doesn't turn off till you turn it off...
