when I get one, do I have to be careful about not updating it?

Is a jailbreaked PS3, USB stick, and laptop all I need to mod games like GTA V? I mostly want it for that.

1) This is in the wrong section
2) A jailbreak is not a usb stick. Its a custom firmwire which people make which is then put on to a usb stick to transfer to the ps3 and is installed via the setting>system update>update via storage media section
3)To mod gta you need to be able to rtm. ( not that hard you just need the laptop you already have and a gta rtm tool that can be found here : You must login or register to view this content.
