Do a barrel roll!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Whats up NGU? Whenever I'm browsing around the forums I see the same question being asked over and over again so I decided to make this and save everyone's time.

The first thing you will need to do is check if you have a 3.55 ps3. Go to system information and look and the firmware. If it is above 3.55 you will need to downgrade (you CANT jailbreak a ps3 if it is above 3.55) if you find one above 3.55 it is mostly going to brick your ps3.

DOWNGRADING

Downgrading is simple if you know what your doing. It could be difficult to people doing it for the first time or even intimidating. The ONLY way you can downgrade a ps3 is by using a e3 flasher.

First off you have to make sure your ps3 is able to be downgraded. Behind your ps3 is a model number this will tell you if you can downgrade your ps3.You can look on Google for the list of systems that can be downgraded

The best tutorials in my opinion are on YouTube just be sure to check the comments etc...

JAILBREAKING

Now that you have a 3.55 ps3 (OFW)
you will need to install a jailbreak. You can find many 3.55 jailbreaks around the forum if you look good enough or you can look on Google etc... You will need a USB in the root of the USB you want to create a folder called "PS3" in the ps3 folder you have to make another one called "UPDATE" this is where you will put the pup file you downloaded.

After you finish all this you have to put the USB into the right slot of your ps3 and go to system update via storage media. It should say it found a custom firmware (3.55 cfw) or something like that.

When all of the updates are done you will have to find a more recent cfw ( I recommend 4.46 rebug) a lot of people recommends 4.50ita but do some research and figure out what you like.

After you find a cfw you will have to download a few homebrew apps which are MUST HAVES to decrease your chances of getting banned.
PS ninja helps with this. Every modder uses this because it wipes out your history and it makes it harder for Sony to detect your cfw.
Another homebrew app you would want is multiman.

HOW TO INSTALL HOMEBREW APPS

Installing homebrew apps are easy. All you need to do is download it online and put it the root of your USB and stick it in the right slot of your ps3 then go to install pkg files.

SPOOFING YOUR CONSOLE

In order to play online with a cfw you will have to spoof your console. You can use different homebrew apps for this. Psn patch is one of the homebrew apps you can use to spoof your console.

GAMES YOU SHOULDN'T MOD ON

1. Advanced Warfare
2.Destiny
3.Ghost
4.any other recent games

Modding on recent games could cause a console ban meaning you will need to buy another console id which is about $25.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CEX AND DEX

CEX

CEX is a retail console which means its the type of thing you buy out of a store. CEX is good for newcomers. I highly recommend CEX if you just want to mod games and play backups.

DEX

DEX is a debug test console. This means you have more debug options and it takes you into another world of modding 😈
It comes with many benefits but many cons as well. If your not a developer or a tester I wouldn't recommend switching to Dex. After you use CEX for a fair amount of time and you think you know what your doing then switch to Dex.

RTE/RTM

Real time editing/ Real time modding is one of the main reasons why people switch to Dex. If your a cod modder and want to fun showing off then you have do be on Dex (unless your just getting started with modding) 😄

Now that you know the basics of jailbreaking I proudly welcome you to the modding world 😀
