I believe you should be able to to install any CFW over your current one. Try install the CFW over safe/recovery mode. Also make sure to remove any disc in the drive and not be connected to the internet. Just so you can avoid installing OFW over your PS3.

If that fails, then use Rogero downgrader/QA flag/then install Rogero 3.55 v3.7/ then install any CFW of your choice.
