As you can see from the picture the cord is clearly damaged. I've ordered a new ps3 ribbon cord which is coming in Monday.

Once it's arrives what can I do to prevent this from happening again? This is my first ps3 that I'm jailbreaking, does it matter which side to connect the ps3 panel flat? Also which side of the ribbon is suppose to be facing you? The blue side of the ribbon or the other?
