My PS3 SLIM is under 3000x a/b (Exactly CECH-2503B on OFW 4.66) and i would like to downgrade it to CFW 3.55 then to jailbreak it on CEX Rebug CFW 3.55 and then spoof it and play online with mod menu's, backup games etc.

I dont know if this method works that i had thaught of and some people did it on on phat ps3s.

Formatting the HDD with an external enclosure,
downloading 3.55 ofw firmware on usb,
installing the firmware on PS3,
getting CEX Rebug and installing it via usb,
and be on my merry ways!
I know using an e3 flasher is more practical but i dont want to spend 35 - 60 pound on a cheapo chinese heap of flashing junk that could F$$K up my damn NOR/NAND chip that cost me alot with my ps3. No offence to you fellow chinese citizens, its just the manufacturing is not that good.
My last option i would be willing to do is to take it to a ****stani repair shop etc. Which is option -C (They probably will charge me 49 to 100 pound.

I would start off by downloading and running MinVerChk to make sure your ps3 can even be Downgraded to 3.55

aggreeed but no amout of usb sticks or hard drive enclosures will get u to 3.55 u need a flasher of some sort ie. tensy ++ , e3, i think progskeet still works too. then if ur going through all that u might aswell replace ur thermal paste too.

well solder free isent exactly cheap and asfar as the russians go cant help you there, but a teensy ++ cost 35$ US tops but you have to solder 40 plus wires pretty closely not for beginners and like u seen a e3 is expensive might as well go to a shop.

Hmm, yeah I got you. I don't really know if my PS is nand or nor. By the way I don't have a solder iron and I dont know any UK stores doing JB around greater London (Lewisham area, can't reveal my living quarters )

I can confirm my PS3 slim goes all the way to 3.41. I have the 320gb model but it has a 80gb HDD as I kinda got scammed off eBay Lolz.
