I installed a corrupt firmware on my ps3 (3.55 DEX Downgrade) and it was stuck at 99 percent. There was no way around it (tried turning off and stuff), so i formatted the hdd on my PC. After installing the HDD back on the ps3 it is telling me to update to a firmware 3.50 or higher so i downloaded OFW 3.55. Now i am getting the error "The data is corrupted (8002F2C5)". I have tried several different downloads and yes i did PS3>UPDATE>PS3UPDAT.PUP. Is there a way to fix this without loosing the ability to jailbreak 3.55? Can i buy a new HDD and still be able to jailbreak ? (You must login or register to view this content.)

If install fails at 99% its usually something to do with your bd drive
Then you get stuck in update reboot loop
Is it connected properly & is laser working,if not this will make the update fail at 99%
I would not try to install 3.55 ofw as you are on dex,try installing the cfw you were on before you got stuck on 999 dex downgrader

I formatted the HDD and it boots me to the Safe Menu. Even after formatting and i still on DEX ? I was on PSITA 4.50, should i install that instead? Or what?

Yeah install ita 4.50 from recovery menu,ps3 is still on dex even with a new hdd as that part lives on the nor or nand chips on ps3 mobo

Are you sure your laser & bd drive are working??

I wanted to update to Rebug 4.65.2 DREX

You could of just updated to rebug 4.65.2 from ita 4.50.

Are you sure? Many videos say to downgrade first.
