Would of thought you know by now if you can mod lol. Here you go anyway bro,

First of all you have to have Rebug Toolbox or some kind of ftp installed as a pkg on your ps3. Once you have it, run it.

Then download Filezilla to your pc if you havent already and connect your ps3 to Filezilla via your ip address in the connect bar at the top.

Once its all done then find dev_hdd0 then you will be in to your ps3's hard drive Smile!

Hope this helped! If you need any help be sure to message me!

Yeah sry I should of made it more obvious I know hwo to do that however I know what the problem is which is to do with XMB when I changed a file but it wont load up only on safe mode and even on that it wont do anything e.g. reinstalling Rebug. I do have the back up of the xmb file which cocked up my ps3 but I was wondering if you can connect the hard drive to pc and replace files on it?

No you can not just magically connect your hdd to your pc and it'll let you edit the files.

you need jailbreak with ftp client on it.
