Post: PS3 external HDD

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey NGU!

I've got a problem ... :(
I bought a new external HDD to backup my games, but it doesn't work.
It's an 3Tb HDD from Intenso, with an USB 3.0 and an external power cabel, which i plug in a power point.
It is formatted to fat32. The HDD also is detected by my Ps3.
To my PS3: It's a slim, and I'm on 4.46 Rebug.
I tried to copy a game with Multiman, but when I copy, i get an Blackscreen, and nothing happens any more.
When I shutdown or disconnect my HDD, everything works fine again, but copying doesn't work.

Anyone of you got help for me? Smile Smile

Tanks, iLandleyy

Sometimes there are some HDD 's that the PS3 just simply does not like.

It may read it fine but the problem will be that the PS3 does not use USB 3.0 and if that's the cable your trying to use with it then that may very well be your problem.

I had the exact same thing happen with me so I broke open the USB 3.0 external case and shoved the HDD into a USB 2.0 caddy and it works flawless now.

I could not for the love of god get the USB 3.0 to play nicely with the PS3 at all.

Obviously you want to try every other route first before you think about butchering it and putting into a USB 2.0 case.

Have you tried to partition the HDD maybe 3 TB is far to big for the PS3 to handle try splitting it into 3 1 TB partitions.

If you need a partition software I would suggest this one.

Don't forget what I said before about Warez. Warez is not allowed to be posted or discussed.

I would advise to remove the links just because you may end up with a warning otherwise and that's never good.
