(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys I just fixed my 3.55 CFW ps3, (it had YLOD) and I want to upgrade to 4.66 cobra, I have the cobra update ready on my USB but do I have to update to an OFW first before I install the desired custom firmware? Thanks

No no no, just install 4.66 cobra and it'll work. I'd stay away from updating to OFW to upgrade.

Do a barrel roll!
Lower FW > Higher FW (ex. 3.55 > 4.66): Just upgrade via XMB/recovery menu as normal.
Higher FW > Lower FW (ex 4.66 > 4.65): You'd need to downgrade to 3.55 (Rebug 999) first, then install the higher FW.

So, no, just update like you would normally do via USB.

Wish I had it that easy in the beginning.
