(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have a cfw ps3 and I want to buy a new and bigger hdd but my question is do I ganna lose the cfw or isn't this related to your hdd ?

just buy an external harddrive i think if u switch the built in hdd its gonna mess up im not sure tho

If its a fat ps3 just put the new drive in, boot up the system and format the drive when it asks you to.
If its a slim, do the same but also put the CFW update on a USB stick in the normal update setup. The system will need the firmware you are running available for it to complete the installation.

op answer is, you are going to need another hard drive to backup everything to it, install the new hdd into the ps3 system and do a restore from the backup you made. yes you will have to install the cfw off a usb disk again after inserting the new hdd. simple.

Had to do same thing just made a quick backup on my original hdd swapped them and re installed my backup.
