I had the same thing happen you need to apply more pressure to the chip!! Buy this it helped me

True,you need to apply your ribbon cable with more pressure on the nor chip :-)
If you take note that the box your E3 Flasher came in has soft padded material,I usually cut a small rectangular square ( roughly the same size as your E3 clip ) tape it up ( so it stays in tact ) then apply that on top of your E3 clip,then you tape it down so it stays in position,works EVERYTIME for me :-)

How much preassure, do i need to apply? A lot? The board will not break? This will work?

Try start with a little then go up but put rubber or something because the tool is metal and you don't want to mess up your contacts.

I never had to apply anything on all the ones I did if u install it correctly u should hear it clip on
