How to enter recovery mode?

a. Turn off Playstation®3.
b. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
c. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
d. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
e. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
f. The Recovery menu will pop up.)

2.Download You firmware (Eg. Rebug/ Darknet/ Rogero ect.) Then make a folder on your desktop called "PS3" then inside that folder make one called "UPDATE" the rename the update you downloaded to "PS3UDAT", Plug that int ps3 after entering Recovery mode

3.installing a new firmware
(After Getting to recovery mode - Click "System Update" > "Update via storage media" Then agree to t and c (if necessary)

That happened to me before, I couldn't enter recovery mode. Go get a USB and download the CFW you are on, place in (ROOT)>PS3>UPDAT then plug it in your PS3, now go through the messages and click start and select etc, then select the USB and it will attempt to reinstall the CFW, if it goes through fine then you are done. If while it's still installing it says that it's corrupt, it should restart your PS3, in my case that it what happened but when it restarted it started up fine, no problem

Just attempt to reinstall your CFW then tell us what happens

You basically soft bricked, if you know why this happens do not do it.

i loaded up a game then it did it my ps3 was running super good a couple minutes ago then i got signed out of psn then i restarted my ps3 now its runny slow and bad
