You need to downgrade to 3.55 OFW. If you are new to modding, I would recommend buying a 3.55 OFW or a pre-jailbroken PS3.

You need to buy an e3 flasher/progskeet downgrade tool to perform the downgrader end of story unfortunately.

You need the hardware to downgrade. You can't just install a lower firmware w/o the proper hardware to do it. Or you can buy an already downgraded or jailbroken PS3
