What I need help with is...

What CFW should I use (CEX/DEX/REBUG) and what version?

How would I go about modifying the patches, and how do I get them on the CFW console to begin with?

What are the best modified patches to use with these games.?

I have another PS3 on OFW, I know you need to get a spoofer to get the same version so you can do a data transfer between the two.

I know I'm asking a lot, but any help would be great!

Dex is the best firmware, i prefer ps3ita 4.50 but some people prefer rebug the beauty of that is you have to go on rebug before you can swap to ita so if you dont like rebug you can swap

Patches are kind of old now the best things to use for cods are sprx menu with anti ban eboot or rtm tool that connects and is controlled through your pc, sounds daunting but is very very simple to set up
Black Ops 2 and Ghost have a very high ban rate.

Yea you can still data transfer between the two so you can transfer your modified patch/sprx menu but keep in mind if the cid gets banned on your ofw there is no way to unban it
