Post: How can I replace the HDD and put a cfw onto it?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hi there my ps3 started to not show the xmb so i followed a tutorial but on the first step when selecting System Update in safe mode it freezes so i would like to know how i can replace my hdd and put a cfw onto it ?? or even fix the issue where it freezes on the safe mode menu when selecting system update. Thank you and PLEASE HELP !!!

you could try and replace it but unless you were on 3.55 then you cant install cfw in the hard drive

As XxMod said, installing a new hdd doesn't mean you can install 3.55 onto it. If you've already got cfw and would like help with replacing the hdd then please quote me and I will assist you.

Yes i would like help replacing the hdd and installing cfw but first i need to purchase a good hdd do you have any recommendations

But i wasnt oj 3.55 i was on rebug 4.70.1 d - rex

I was on cfw rebug 4.70.1 when my xmb stopped showing so i went to the recovery menu but when i select system update it freezes so i thought i need to replace the hdd but how could i do that if i was on 4.70.1 d-rex

In my opinion i would just install 3.55 then 4.70 rebug after.
