Post: Console needing repaired any help ?

When I plug the power cable into the PS3 the red light comes on but once I switch it on, it turns green then disappears straight away and theres no light until I remove the power cord and put it back in again.
When I leave it for like a week untouched it works perfectly for like 5 or 6 hours maybe but goes back to the same way.
Need suggestions on a possible fix and cost and tutorial on how to fix it.
Its an Old FAT PS3 its running 4.70 OFW and was hoping to get it downgraded to 3.55 CFW for something to mess about on when im not on my PS4.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Your right, sounds like your power supply is dieing. its a simple fix just follow this guide You must login or register to view this content. Most Power Supply's for fat models are $30. Just looks around ebay for one
