I have an issue with one of my ps3's - Yesteday I woke up and thought I would play gta - when I started my 160gb Rebug 4.70 it loaded up with a sony logo followed by insert controller - I was like wtf - and how it said data was corrupt - after putting in controller - it started to reboot back to rebug - but users settings + email and passwords had gone and left a * next to name eg . *Firemaggot.

I thought no troubles I would just re enter the data - On trying this it when press sign up to psn - it times out each time .

So I check the internet settings - and were there used to be a list of items in the internet test - all it comes up with now is 2 options -

1) internet conection
2) Ip Address

my other ps3 shows connection to psn ect ect.


I reinstalled the cfw but yet same thing again

I went down 2 3.55 and loaded multible cfw and yet no joy ( worked 11 hours on this yest )

prior to this I had done - file restore and rebuild database - and it had just finished a harddrive wipe just incase that was corrupt but yet same thing



I am lost - lol - is it semi bricked or does anyone know of a fix ?

I have changed my NP
also tried a wired connection but kow joy

I can use the web browser but not psn
I have changed cids ect and checked the one that was using n other ps3.

Also when I load up the start up screen is now a black and white colour - but xmb has colour

totally lost

ok so im taking a wild ass guess are u on 4.70 rebug rex *cex*, if so all u need a spoofer becuase a patch came out the other day, so just look for a patch.... if your still having problem just go on 4.65 ita, fuck rebug lol

Hi bro thanks for your reply - no I am dex - I have 1 other dex console and that's working fine

I have just finished installing a new hdd to this one after ther issue and its still the same .

I was told maybe I need to get it reflashed due to it maybe losing the drivers to connect to psn ( you know when you do a internet test it shows ip and internet and psn ) ( mine only shows internet and ip) and have tried a wired connection and still the same ..

I have tried multible cfw on this ps3 since this issue - cex and dex - spoofer and non spoofer and al come back to - cant reach server on signing up to new account - I have now spent over 20hr on this and tbh - looks like it will be thrown against the wall very soon lol

dont break it gimmie it lol or try to install 4.65 ita and let me know if it work

Issue solved - the ps3 ended up getting infected with a brick wall after many attempts - rip

It in the end was the hard drive died and wouldn't load the network part of the cfw - new hard drive in and fully restored and now working well - 2 days trying to fix lol
