I've Had A JB PS3 Before But it has been so long since modding & looks like somethings have changed. First off I want to convert the ps3 to DEX, Back when I had my fat ps3 converting to DEX required me to use a program on my pc with my dumps(Can't remember what it was called anyways), I seen a couple of tuts on YouTube showing a homebrew that does it automatically from your PS3 (obviously installing from pc>usb>ps3) Is this homebrew legit & will it put me on 100% DEX not some spoofed up CEX Version? Next What Firmware should I start with 3.55 kmeaw or 3.55.4 rebug? In the end I am Planning on staying on 4.46.1 D-Rex rebug or 4.50 ita DEX. Also there is something called QA flags, Which allows you go from any FW to another? If I am wrong please inform me of the proper use. I think that is all to the main JB but if I missed anything please explain in the comments as I do not want to brick my ps3. Thank You!

Yes. This homebrew does exist to answer your first question.

I would recommend starting with 3.55 Kmeaw.

I would recommend you go to a more updated version of Rebug such as 4.70.1 Rebug D-REX.

QA Flagging is when you are on 3.55 Kmeaw, you install this package called Toggle QA from here and then you run it with no CD's, cables, or anything plugged in besides the power and the HDMI/AV Cables. Then once you run it, you get a black screen and then it takes you back to the XMB after a couple seconds. That is it. After that, it will allow you to go from different firmwares without bricking your PS3. Be sure to ask the seller if it is already QA Flagged since it can cause some complications.

I prefer to be safe and downgrade and then go back up again just so I don't risk a brick. That extra 5 minutes can save you much more time... that is just my recommendation. It is totally up to you.
