there's 3 ways, A. use a esata station or external usb sata cord and connect to new hdd, go to debug settings and there's a option to transfer to new hdd i forget what its called you will know it when you see it , if you don't have one use method B. B. Switch to cex then go to the backup utility option, it is not on dex, C. FTP all stuff you want to pc and then ftp it back once installed new hdd, some things can not be ftped or required you to rebuild ps3 in recovery menu hope this helped. if you go method B do not leave disc in ps3 or you will end up on ofw like i did cause i didn't read everything lol

there is but it don't back up it transfers via usb sata cord to new hdd
Update: yeah i see what you mean the transfer is gone in the debug settings, i know it use to be there idk what firmware i was on lol, anyways still works on cex and ftp works so up to you, dex-cex cex-dex is really fast now so thats not a issue use to take a little longer
