(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi there,
Am new to modding and that explains that I have a lot of questions about jailbreaking/modding my ps3. I've wqtched a ton of videos/tutorials about to how to jailbreak nd stuff but didn't get it so.
1) after patching the dump (bkpps) what do I do?
2) to be able to get on dex do I have to on cex first? Or I can just install dex after the downgrade?

Please help
Linking me to some helpful videos would be awesome or telling me what to do
Thank you Smile

After patching the dump:
1. Put the patched bkpps3.bin file onto your sd card
2. put the sd card into your e3 flasher
e3 flasher should have all switches down
3. start the ps3 and wait until the black screen that says "harddrive not found" comes up
4. click start on the e3 flasher

Once it has finished, you can turn the console off.

5. Remove e3 flasher and install your ps3's harddrive and disc drive
6. Turn the ps3 on
You should be greeted with a black screen that says "please insert firmware X.XX"

7. Download You must login or register to view this content.
8. Rename the file to "PS3UPDAT.PUP" (no quotes)
9. On a fat32 formatted usb flash drive, create a folder named "PS3"
10. Inside the "PS3" folder, create a folder named "UPDATE"
11. Inside the "UPDATE" folder, place the "PS3UPDAT.PUP"

Folder structure should be:
fat32formattedflashdriveroot/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

12. Insert the flash drive into the right most usb port of the ps3
13. Follow prompt and install

Next boot, you should be on Rogero Downgrader.

14. Download, install, and run You must login or register to view this content. on your ps3.
If your disc drive has a matching logic board (original or married), then it should beep and restart.
You should now be able to go to the second column on the XMB, all the way down under network settings, press a certain combo (reserved can't remember combo atm) to check if debug settings come up. If they do, you can continue.

Once you have successfully QA flagged, you can now install a CEX cfw of your choice, such as:

You must login or register to view this content.

You must login or register to view this content.

You must login or register to view this content.

You will need a spoofer to match your cfw version to sony's official firmware version, if using CEX and wanting to go online.

Such as Arch spoofer You must login or register to view this content.
or SENenabler You must login or register to view this content.

Converting to DEX can be done by installing any rebug REX(CEX) cfw 4.65 or higher, and then following these steps:

1. Open Rebug toolbox
2. Select option "dump eid root key"
Select yes, Console will reboot
3. Open Rebug toolbox
4. Select option "rewrite target ID in flash"
Select yes
5. Select option "swap lv2 kernal"
select yes and yes for it to reboot.

6. Install a DEX cfw of your choice. like You must login or register to view this content.

Done!

There is probably a little more you should know, but that covers the big stuff.. I hope it helps.
