So I got my three backups, patched one of them, put it on the SD card, and got ready to flash it. But during the process, I had a small power failure and my PS3 turned off. Now my PS3 just sits at a black screen when I turn it on, and I have to pull the power cord from the back to turn it off.
What can I do next to fix it? I have a PS3 Slim CECH-2001. Don't have a downgrade dongle.

If you have a good, valid backup, it is just a matter of flashing it to the console to fix this.

Ok. I just did the flash over again, the patched BIOS, and it successfully finished and booted up to the XMB. So I put Rebug 4.78.1 Rex on a flash drive and prepared to update. The update got to 69% and gave an error code of 8002F14E. I restarted the PS3 and it failed on the same percentage.

then you can install a CEX firmware of your choice.

Right before I read this I decided to give the Rebug update another go, but this time with the blu-ray drive plugged in. I forgot to do that.

And success! It hit 100% and then rebooted with REBUG as the coldboot, yay! Thank you very much for your help.

If you don't mind me asking a few more questions. I used to have a CFW PS3 a long time ago but I used Rogero so I'm not that used to Rebug. Not familiar with webMAN or Cobra or any of that either. I just installed the toolbox. What else should I be doing next? Enabling Cobra and webMAN and restarting I would assume. Do I need to do QA flagging?

If you are on 4.78cfw now then apparently you have already qa flagged, so no need to ever do it again.

Personally I don't use webman, I prefer using multiman..
ccapi..although you might have a little trouble with that on 4.78cfw..not sure
maybe psnpatch..



I'm sure others can help with that.. There's a few methods and its really all about preference and compatibility.

Other than that, you are pretty much good to go. If you change firmwares to something lower, just make sure you use a a software such as Arch's 4.78 spoofer or SENenabler to spoof your cfw version to match sony's current ofw version.
