You need to update the e3 flasher first.

Did you firstly update the E3 Nor Flasher. Also did you make sure you plugged it ion correctly in the PS3? Anyway, watch the tutorial below on how to downgrade your console:

Yes updated now I guess to make dump files but I'm on Mac as well
