I have to say is pretty good the speeds are pretty fast and and I usually get host,my problem is it generates a new I guess sub? ip *for my PlayStation every night*so every day I add one to console manager*but not everyday it connects,*disconnecting to the internet and reconnecting*does not help it somehow remembers my PlayStation*and gives me the same number an example is last night's number was 25.213.108.202*and yes it connects to my laptop and the laptop's IP is something different, sounds a little crazy but this is what I'm dealing with hope somebody can help

maybe not a good idea to put the IP if that is public IP..

but they are using dynamic IPs that change every night Im guessing.

Is the issue that you do not want to keep making a new connection with ccapi, or that you have trouble reconnecting sometimes?

No one can really help with the connection issues you are having because that is purely to do with your setup and when the IP changes, your stuff probably just gets bugged out or something and/or you gotta wait it out to get connected..

You may be able to set a static IP to the ps3, this way the public IP will change, but the ps3s local ip will stay the same, so shouldn't change for ccapi.

I could be wrong. give it a shot.

Or is the problem that it is not giving your ps3 a new public IP and keeps the old one? You can manually set the internet settings of the ps3 through the XMB>network settings

it won't let me do a static IP on Optimum wifi for some reason I tried it with my DSL and it works but not the optimum also that's not my IP I don't understand what it is but it's not my Ip my buddy has Cain and Abel and tells me I have a completely different Ip every day and it's just me and him in the lobby so I know he's not screwing it up he tells me it's one set of numbers and in my network settings it tells me it's another ,someone also running their mouth telling me they were going to boot me told me my IP and I thought they were wrong because you know I just put it in console manager so I kind of knew what it was first two numbers of my laptop's IP is 62 PS3 is 25 and they usually connect ???

Doesn't really make sense.. its not strange, sounds like you might not fully understand public and local ip addresses perhaps. or maybe i am just not understanding.

Your public IP address (the one they would boot) is not the same as your ps3 local IP address. It is not what you would be putting into ccapi..

All of your devices are assigned their own local IP address, which all connect to the main Public IP address (should only be one unless there are multiple modems and even then maybe still just one)

you are definitely right that I do not fully understand this however if you Google what is my IP from my laptop it starts with a 63.???.???.??? and every day my IP on my PlayStation starts with 25.???.???.??? when I was on a different connection it was always 192.168. ???I have never gotten any numbers like that while I was on Optimum public.wifi always starts with laptop 63.???.??? ps3 25.???.??? never has it ever been 192.168 on Optimum public.wifi in system settings/ system information system software IP address 25.???.???.??? and it's the same in rebug toolbox of course

Sorry I meant like maybe you were getting confused with local vs public IP addresses..


The ip you find on your playstation is a local IP (ex 192.168.x.x), not your public IP.

when you google search what is my ip, you will get your public IP.
