Yeah Filezilla is what alot of people use. If your using a Cobra based CFW with Cobra mode enabled all you gotta do is enter your PS3's IP and connect. Or using black box FTP works too.

If your computer is next to your PS3 you can just transfer it over with an ethernet cable to dev_hdd0/packages. Just give your ethernet adapter an ip and subnet along with your PS3. You can also extract the pkg file with Pkgview then FTP the folder to dev_hdd0/game. Wireless takes quite a bit of time so using an ethernet cable is highly suggested.
