got to be careful i think you have to downgrade to 3.55 and then put the Firmwear you want i suggest doing it that way incase of bricking or soft bricking your console

Please provide more info. Is your system already Jailbroken? Are you on CEX OR DEX?

You have to re-flash your console.

1. Download 4.80 cfw
2. Rename the file to "PS3UPDAT.PUP" (no quotes)
3. On a fat32 formatted usb flash drive, create a folder name "PS3"
4. Inside the "PS3" folder, create a folder named "UPDATE"
5. Inside the "UPDATE" folder, place your "PS3UPDAT.PUP"

6. Insert the flash drive into the rightmost usb port of your ps3
7. On the XMB, go to settings column, at the top select "Update System" (alternatively boot ps3 into recovery mode and select "update system")
8. On prompt, do not select from the internet, instead select "from usb device" (alternatively boot ps3 into recovery mode and select "update system")
9. Follow prompt and install
