(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have 2 PS3's, 1 is on 3.42 and the other is on 3.41 but doesnt read disks.So im wondering whether if the the HDD of the broken PS3 will work in the other PS3 with the 3.41 for when i do the JailBreak.

Nope.. the firmware is stored on a Static memory, aka Nand Flash

Ok thanks for that, so the only way to fix it is get a new Blu Ray thing ?

If you want to be able to use the ps3 with 3.41 yes, that's the only option. sorry

jailbreak it and use external hdd for all your games

Take the blu-ray drive out of the 3.42 and put it into the 3.41?
