Well you need a custom patch... either godlymodz or another that can be found on this forum. You also need something like psgroove or psfreedom or whatever. Ftp server yeah. Why do you say, compress & decompress? If you are talking about the modded patch, that depends on if you plan on making your own or just using a pre-made one. Anyway hope that helps.
