I am currently thinking seriously about the 3.41 Ps3. I am wondering if you could buy a new HDD 3.41 off Ebay and put it on a 3.50 Ps3? I am a noob when it comes to hacking so I hope you undertsand that lol. I know that when a Ps3 HDD is put in then it is automatically assigned to that but if I bought a new one maybe?

Firmware version is not dictated by the HDD.

this won't work to do ANYTHING
as soon as you turn your ps3 on, it'll ask you to format the drive
& at that point, it'll be a 3.50 hdd :p
