Im about to buy a 60gb ps3 that has a 2.60 firmware, just was wondering if it was possible to jailbreak that firmware and if not then can i upgrade to 3.41 without upgrading to 3.50? Also if i can jailbreak the ps3 on 2.60 firmware then what payload should i use? I currently have a ps3key.
You can Jailbreak firmware 2.76 using PL3
if i where you i would NOT update to 3.41 but 2.76. im kinda busy right now
but in a bit i will search for the link for the 2.76 payload
1.crate desktop folder called PS3
2.go into PS3 folder
3.create new folder called UPDATES
4.put 3.41 patch in there
5.load into a usb
6.put into ps3
7.go to update via storage
DONE
rep if i helped
why do people not think they can update to 3.41? it makes absolutely no sense to me, but w/e. and i would listen to hunter about staying at a lower firmware version. you can then have the other OS function still!

I think its "theoretically" possible to jailbreak 3.40 and lower. Those 2.+ firmwares had alot of exploits, so ya just dont update, you'll have a better chance hacking it.
