(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello, My lag switch was really crappy because of 1 Reason

The tutorial i read said to cut the solid orange wire but i needed to cut the solid green wire so it was a mess with 2 wires and all trashy hot glued so i have a question

HOW CAN I TELL WHETHER TO CUT THE GREEN OR THE SOLID ORANGE

NOTE: recently my lag switch just randomly stopped working giving me the ethernet cable is not connected right away (i was using green wire) YES I HAVE THE CORRECT NETWORK SETTINGS
so this leads me to believe now i need to use orange but I would like a second opinion is there anyway to be sure what color to cut before i cut it?
THE REASON I NEED TO KNOW IS BECAUSE I AM STARTING OVER WITH A NEW CORD I DONT WANNA MESS UP THIS TIME

The tutorial said cut the orange one and connect it to the light switch. That is just what the tut said you should wait for a word from someone that is experienced.

i believe that when you look at the ethernet plug (so the lock is on the bottom), if the orange wire is the second from the right (PIN #2) then you should cut orange, but if the green is second from the right you should cut green.

go to this page: You must login or register to view this content. . On the right it shows the two different types of wiring (T568A or T568B). When its T568A, cut green. When its T568B, cut the orange.
