(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello Its Foolness. I recently Obtained a problem as I moved my ps3 into the basement and directly connected it to the router instead of through a cat 5 wall jack.
Problem: My lag switch says ethernet cable is not connected right away when i fly the switch EVEN WHEN I HAVE IT 100ft away using 2 50ft ethernet cables linked with a coupler
Works when: I hook it up into my modem
Reason I can't have this: I cannot be distrubing the whole internet connection through my house seeing as some people are doing important things on the internet, Also because I am too far away.

Solution: I need a way to make it work so I can hook it up to my router and it still work IF IT IS SOME SETTINGS I NEED TO CHANGE WITH MY ROUTER OR ANYTHING PLEASE HELP

Its so easy

Use a network splitter.Your console will notice the power loss in the Ethernet cable if you use the switch directly attached to the console and with power lose it will disconnect you.

With the network splitter you plug the switch between the router and network splitter and then put a Ethernet cable from you network splitter to console.

Network splitters are around £10 on ebaySmile

Oh and long ethernet cable's do not work. The data travels so fast it will make no difference that is noticeableGasp

Does the splitter have to be before or after the lag switch or does either work

After otherwise the console will notice the power change

Router(ethernet cable)Lag switch(Ethernet cable)Network splitter(ethernet cable)console

I use this one

Its a hub/switch.There not really called splitters but you get the idea.

Not sure but i use a 20m cable from the router to lag switch and a 2m from the network hub into the console. Can't see why it would not.
