This is my situation everyone was buzzing about this Geohot guy posting something on his web-site so I went here had a look and looked for a good easy 1,2,3,4,5 Steps Tutorial which was short so I found one and followed it. It went well and I had jail broken my ps3 with CTW 3.55 all I knew about it was it wold let you host challenge lobby's and I think someone said it would let you get free things from the ps3 store.Then this guy on my friends list invited me to a challenge lobby and it worked so I remembered what he was on and had a look for it here it was someones Awesome File Manager I took ages trying to work it then a easy tutorial game out and I got it working
And now I can host Challenge Lobbys On mw2 but I want to do more but I don't understand most of the tutorials due to some of these questions so I need them answered BASICALLY IM A HACKING NOOB!!!+Rep for lots of good answers!!
1. What is Homebrew?
2. On the CTW 3.55 Jailbreak... WHAT CAN I DO eg: Challenge Lobby's?
3. What does CTW Stand For?
4. Is the 3.41 The jailbreak with 2 PS3'S?
5. What is a direct boot?
6. Is there a way to change the game your on on the CTW 3.55 ? Link would be awesome!
7. Can you get free stuff from the PS Store with the CTW 3.55 Jailbreak?
8. Can you get Custom Avatars on 3.55?

Homebrew is defined as programs written not by the company. IE. Home users writing their own stuff to run on the PS3 platform.

You can do a lot more, think outside the box.

I think you mean CFW which is Custom Firmware

3.41 has it's own jailbreak, not sure what you mean by 2 PS3's.

Booting the file directly from the HDD without needing to emulate the Blu-Ray drive.

Of course, start exploring what you can modify. PS3 registry editor (Careful with that one) rco file edit's, etc....

Probably.
8. Can you get Custom Avatars on 3.55?
But no else can see them.
9. What is a signed FTP?
The ftp program signed using retail npdrm keys so it can run on PS3's not in debug/test mode.
10. What is custom ps3 firmware?
Edited firmware to unlock such options as install packages, etc..
11. What's a PKG?
A bundled program with all it's dependencies and files in a signed file. usually meant to be distributed over PSN or the PSN Store.
12. Will you be able to do Black Ops Lobby's? With this Jailbreak?

no u can only run stuff like multiman home made PKGS which are games but theyre are only some u can do back up manger aswell PKGS are packaged files for e.g have homebrews so that u can install and run them
