This is NOT a tutorial for noobs (non-noob friendly). You have to have some kind of knowledge about creating the eboot.bin files.

Here is my small guide on how to create EBOOT.BIN files to work with an external HDD, for those that do not know.

First of all, follow this guide until step 8:

You must login or register to view this content.

After you've came up to step 8, do the following:

Instead of changing the dev_bdvd/ps3_game/usrdir into dev_hdd0/ps3_game/usrdir, change it to the following line:

dev_usb00x/gamexx/usrdir

Where "X" is one of your USB Ports (for example, the far left usb port on a PS3 Fat is usb006, so you would get dev_usb006/game00/usrdir) and where "xx" is random (for example, if it is your first game, you could call it dev_usb00x/game01/usrdir)

Once you've done this to all of the dev_bdvd paths, follow the guide again:

You must login or register to view this content.

And create your own package.

If you want to play on your external hdd now, create a folder game00 and copy all files from the game you have. You should get the following files into it:

EXAMPLE for GTA IV:

TROPDIR
USRDIR
ICON0.PNG
PARAM.SFO
PIC0.PNG
PIC1.PNG
PIC2.PNG
PS3LOGO.DAT
SND0.AT3

Once you've got this working, install the package you just made. Now try and boot the game you want to play, and if all would've worked well, you have just got yourself a game to play from your external HDD!
