Steps:

1. Have filezilla and a FTP Server installed
2. Connect your ps3 with filezilla, File/Site manager/
(the ip on your ps3 is your ip address) and the port is 21,
3. Before connecting go to "transfer Settings" Make sure you check the box "limit number of simultaneous connections" and the max number is 1.
4. Once u choose Connect, go dev_hdd0/home/000000--/friendim/avatar/
(000000--) will vary its the orded of your users.
5. find or save a img as a png, then rename it to whatever their id is and drag it into filezilla and replace.
6. Quit and check out their avatar

Yea, true. Unlike the mecomment.dat which connects to the server and uploads it, the avatars are only on your playstation and get downloaded from other users once you log on. True story.
