(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I just decided to get kmeaw 3.55 yesterday finally letting go of my dongle. But since i updated to 3.55, my PS3 has been making a lot of noise which i have experienced for the first time since I bought my PS3.

Anyone experiencing the same issues or is it just me? Is this normal and could it shorten my ps3's life if I just ignore this?

Thanks

I haven't noticed mine making noise but if your is it could be because you are now running your games off of the HDD so you are hearing the HDD make a lot of noise as it is constantly reading the files now instead of your blu-ray drive.

If you're running games from your internal drive, it's gonna kick up some heat. Actually come to think of it. These games are optimized to constantly be seeking data from the BR. Does that mean that running them from the hard drive they act the same way? If that's the case then that will increase the heat in the system big time.

Does anyone know for sure? Do any of the back up apps let run from an external drive? If so I would take that option.

Dude it's the fan, you gotta get rid of all that dust. My PS3 use to switch off due to overheating (before the hacks). Make sure those little ventilation spaces are clear.

I run all my games from external hdd

I just figured out, it could be where i placed my ps3, I placed it to another spot in my room like 2 weeks ago, but it wasnt making noise until i went to 3.55 kmeaw, so its unlikely that its the reason.

I'll place it back to where it was and see if it still makes that noise just to eliminate that possible cause.
