I recieved my Amazebreak in the mail a couple days ago, and started this process.

  • I had to update my Amazebreak jailbreak with the most current software.

  • I followed the "You must login or register to view this content." on Amazebreak.cc, Success.

After downgrading from 3.41 to 3.51 firmware, I proceeded to install programs.

  • I installed Backup Manager and blackb0x FTP v1.2, Success.

  • I backedup Modern Warfare 2, to the internal HDD, Success.

This is where the problems begin.

I can't figure out how to re-upgrade to 3.55 firmware in order to get back online. I've been through several forums, spending hours researching. I've tried several things, in order to solve this problem.

Someone asked why I downgraded from 3.55 to 3.41. I honestly thought that I had to, in order to run a backup manager, ect. Little did I know that, I could have stayed with 3.55 firmware, installed "PS3_355_KMEAW_CFW", that allows backups on 3.55. And, installed RogeroManager to manage patches.

I have tried re-bug 3.41, spoofing 3.55. The spoof of 3.55 is a success and it makes my Playstation think that the current firmware is 3.55 BUT when I try to access the PSN, it gives me the "data corrupt error".

I have tried the tutorial of copying the "USRDIR" from 'dev_hdd0' to the computer, then back onto the Playstation. Success, but FAIL when I try to install the MW2 Patch 1.00 via "install package files". This tutorial says it needs to be performed on the 3.55 firmware, even though my jailbreak has spoofed 3.55, no success.

I have read several posts from forums, pertaining to the similar problem I'm having. They say, "It sounds like you're stuck in the modded 3.41, which is actually 3.55_6 And, you just need to downgrade to the firmware that is equal to or less than the firmware that came on your Playstation."

I cannot get my 3.41 firmware to go into Factory/Service mode. I've searched for a specific tutorial for "getting into Factory/Service mode" on 3.41 firmware, no success. I would either need to go to 3.40, 3.21 or 3.15.. and then I would be able to upgrade back to 3.55, right?

I performed the 4hr 45m re-format on my Playstation hoping it would restore back to the 3.55 firmware, not a chance. As soon as I rebooted after format, the system is still running 3.41.
I have tried different variations of programs:

  • ComgenieAwesomeFilemanager

  • multiMAN ver 1.13.00

  • fail0verflow_ps3tools_win32

  • Rogero_Manager_v7.9a_Waninkoko_Kmeaw_AutoPatch_OFW3.41_CFW3.55

  • Gaia_V2.01

Nothing is helping me!

Long story short, I need to upgrade to 3.55 from my 3.41, or bypass the 3.41 to access PSN!

If someone knows how, or has seen a post with this same problem, please enlighten me, or point me in the right direction. Right now, I'm as frustrated as frustrated gets with this, and to the point of buying a new HDD for my Playstation, and say to hell with it, which I'd rather not do. Once again, I'm sorry for the repeitivness of this problem, I'm sure... I'm still new to this!

Thank you in advance!

Another tidbit. If anyone can help me get my system up and running 3.55 accessing PSN, I will pay for your time and troubles!! Please please please, help!

I read your reply on another post while I was researching my problem.
I tried to update my system with Sony's OFW via internet, as well as via USB. [/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP] I made sure that my USB drive is FAT32 formatted as well. For both instances, it gives me the same error:

This data is corrupt. (8002F2C5)

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing wrong, I'm sure it's something very simple, I'm overlooking... but it's driving me nuts!

Thanks for your reply and in the meantime, I'll keep trying.
