(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey guys so i know that if u try to run GTA 4 from a backup manager it will just stay at the screen where it keeps changing the pictures and it wont start the game. Well i know how to fix that problem. Just go to the Game data utility and delete the GTA 4 and start GTA 4 from ur backup manager not the actual CD. When it says download patch (in this case 1.0.6) do not download it. Press O on it and it will start the game. Now there is a downside on this, u can't play online. If u try to log in to PSN while playing the game it will ask u to download the patch. So u have to play with ur PSN logged out. Hoped this helped.

:( no way to play online?

also ive never played gta4 so i was wonderin can you play like splitscreen multiplayer offline? cuz me and my brother play GTA alot on ps2 (san andreas) and i was wonderin if we can play offline 2 players?

Not without an update, just like updating your firmware and playing ps3

I just started playing GTA 4 like 2 days ago and its been a while since i played this game. If there is an option to do splitscreen then it should work cause its not multiplayer. Smile

I got online to work by editing the PARAM.SFO version to 1.06 and deleting the update in the update folder. The downside to this is only people who bypassed like this can only join your game.

Why not download the patch then update? or is the patch just the issue for the lagg and such?

If you update, the patch overwrites the files and then you get into an infinite boot screen at start up.

So backup the game, patch, then mod messes it up?

Well if you don't update, then the mod sticks to singleplayer.

Also, the driving is horri-bad on this lol. You cannot control is whatsoever :P
