I have deleted every trace of mw2 from ps3, help please?

ok iv never heard about the disc not working as that runs off the player,what you might have done is removed some files that you shouldn't have.
this might sound silly and a pain in the butt you could reinstall the cfw 3.55 again and try that.

any1 else help?

You should have used a tutorial, and read some of the problems that have occured when using COD's.

You probably just deleted somthing you shouldnt have. Go to restore ps3. make sure you deactivate your system first, by going to account management and sytem activation. Then restore your ps3 sytem. I recomend doing the full restore as you probably deleted other stuff you shouldnt have as well. lol. This will almost definitley fix your problem. Unless you had the MW2 disc in when you were doing all that deleting. lol an easy way to tell if the disc is f**ked is just take it and play it on another ps3. If the disc works then the restore will definitley work.

and thats just bs I backed up WAW and it works without disc. and Mw 1 and 2 dont work without disc but the disc itself still works. What juddy was talking about is the backups dont work not the disc.

Would it be a good idea to re-install ofw first. Just dont want my system bricked if something goes wrong

Yeah, I would do as IPopUrDome said and restore your PS3. It should do the trick. Next time be more careful and pay attention to the tutorial :p

Or choose one that's legit haha.

And what's the reason behind backing games up?
I haven't been around the hacking scene long enough to know why.

Well, Juddy said no COD's work except Black Ops, maybe W@W works.

The reason:
1) Order/Rent games from Blockbuster/Gamefly
2) Copy the games
3) You just saved loads of cash

2 games = $120
2 games rent = $15
You save = $105

No dont worry about going OFW first it doesnt matter. Youll still be jailbroke wen your done.
