Basically i just want to know what i should do when it comes to installing game updates, like for nfs hot pursuit it asks me for 1.01 which im just declining for now, but how would i actually install it?
Do it normally on the ps3 or would that screw my backup over?
I seen a site called Brewology where u can get game updates off and just install the .pkg then install the file in Non jailbreak mode, Would this work?

Also for NFS;HP i had to change the eboot.bin file and edit the .sfo file and boot from another disk to get it to play but with Fallout:New vegas i didnt have to do any of that, is this normal for 3.41 jailbreak?

you can just update to 3.55 and jailbreak it useing a CFW...

If you had to change the eboot.bin file, an update will screw the backup. Why dont u just update to cfw 3.55 and install the update and play online

Why would i update to 3.55 CFW? From what ive been told, 3.41 Jailbreak can support alot more than CFW can, Plus i dont think i want to risk bricking my console when i already have a jailbreak, which i think is better than CFW anyways :s

And what are you talking about zxz? I have 3.41 FIRMWARE but my ps3key spoofs 3.55
So i CAN go online if i wanted to... I just need to know how i go about installing game updates so i can actually go online...

OR I could just edit the PARAM.SFO file from Version 1.00 to 1.01 <-- Would this work?

you can install the updates to go online but idk about editing the PARAM.SFO file.

So your saying i can launch the game from multiman, go out to xmb, start up the game and install the patch as normal when it asks?
I heard this corrupts your game data and screws your backup over completely and can pretty much force you to format your hdd

Or is that for 3.55 CFW?
I edited the SFO file PS3 SYSTEM VERSION from 03.41000 to 03.55000 (Can be 03.51000 for anyone having a black screen issue) and the game worked, so maybe i should try the SFO spoof?
