To alleviate the issue of messing up your original PS3 games and also to download and install games via the net. The Backup Manager is used by most to pirate games but also many choose to back their games up that way they can save their actual PS3 disc's for collection purposes. It's up to you what you choose to do with it.

Save money. People let their mates borrow a game and then they can just give it back but still be able to play it. It's like making a fake copy of the game.

As well, if apple allow people to download there bought disks(Music) onto there ipods.. or what not, how comes we cant download our PS3 games onto OUR PS3?
