Keep in mine i have currently a 80gb hdd in my ps3 and im planning to use the 1TB or 500gb for MOVIES, MUSIC, AND Games, now i know if i get the 1TB i can dedicate that too games and dedicate my 80 gb too movies... but the consern is, will the external or internal boot games faster? Well, I would say get the internal if you want the speed. Anything on the internal hard drive will be faster. However, if you want a cheaper alternative... go for the external. Then at least you can do more with it, like take it to ur friends house. Think about it. hehe/facepalm

It all deapens on the RPM.

If the internal is 7200 there will be faster loading times etc.

If the external is 5200 well you know...

But that doesnt really matter, i would go with the 1tb external.

Remember the internal has to be 2.5"

Well no matter what... hard drive connected by usb isnt faster than internal.
