i have the 3.56 as a .rar file, i extracted the files, opened the folder/subfolder and inserted blackbox ftp into the modules section....if is it possoble to convert the full ofw folder to a pup file, and if so, will it have ftp on it and still be classed as ofw?

my point to this is, your not jailbreaking, and u would still have sonys terms and conditions on the firmware, just with the ftp addon included ie nothing illegal going on

so when i extracted the files from the 3.56 update, i got a folder called PS3UPDATE.PUP, so i opened it, and got another folder called modules, inside it is full of package files which seem to make up the firmware, i simply added the ftp pkg file into it, and my idea is to somehow put the extracted folder into its own .PUP file so it can be used as a legal firmware, that has ftp on it, which wouldnt be classed as a jailbreak....im not sure if it would work though, worth a thought

i think you might brick your console doing that. it isnt signed like the others and it will give an error 80010017 causing a system shutdown? maybe

Lol Nice idea but I dont think people would risk it.

Any homebrew that isnt signed like the other pkgs equates to riding a dead horse, it would be no different to having old apps on your PS3 before updating to 3.56, the 3.56 pup would disable it & even worse you risk alot more then trying to get a pkg to work
