I agree, I just bought a 1TB ext drive and I love it I have 35 PS3 games and and thousands of NES, Super Nintendo, Sega, and some others on it and not even a quarter of the way full. I bought the Seagate freeagent go flex with usb 3.0 and also a usb 3.0 card for my pc it's super fast transfer and awsome portability (I take my ps3 everywhere and this hard drive can fit in my pocket) but an internal HDD wouldn't hurt I guess but from experience a portable HDD is best way to go because you can buy a 2TB drive instead of messing with the internal PS3 HDD. and just for extra info I bought mine from WalMart for $125.00 but you can get 2TB drives that size for around the same price online I'm just impatient and can't wait for shipping lol
