yes. and if you put your patches on your 3.55 PS3 before you data transfer you can keep them.

yes you will need a ethernet cable hooked between the 2 machines and just follow the data transfer thing on the ps3 to set up which will send and which recieves keep in mind that if your jail broken hombrew wont work on 3.56 which most ps3 still should have 3.55 or lower still preinstalled
