(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok so if i take out my HDD with 3.55 CFW and put in a HDD from my old ps3 in it and format and update it to 3.56.

Will i be able to put my HDD back into my console with CFW 3.55 and still be jailbroken? Or will it **** up something. Just want to know so i can temporarily play online.

i swapped hdd on a cfw ps3 once and i lost install pkg and the other file, i had to reinstall the cfw to get them bk, you should be able to but u would prob need to reinstall the cfw again

Even if the HDD im putting back into the ps3 already has CFW ??

you said you was gonna update the hdd to 3.56 on another ps3 so how will it still have cfw on

I'd like to know this too... I'm really considering updating because I miss playing online with actual people.

But I doubt it will work :( I think once you upgrade to 3.56 you're stuck on it unless you can downgrade.

Even with 2 HDD's? One on 3.56 and one on 3.55?

The CFW isn't kept on the HDD, swapping HDD's won't do anything.

the firmware is not stored on the hdd its stored in the ps3 memory, changein a hdd wont change a firmware

If you have 2 or more PS3's with different Firmware on each one, and you decide to swap HDD's between them, it won't affect the Firmware in any way, if anything it'll ask to format the HDD.

The main bulk of the PS3 Firmware is stored in dev_flash0, which is NOT on any HDD.
