How to install CFW ON PS3 (Easy Steps)+(How to switch back to OFW)

1. Copy and rename the cfw.PUP(name varies on different downloads) to PS3UPDAT.PUP copy it to a USB storage device keeping this directory structure in mind: /PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP

2. Connect that USB device to your PS3 and install from Settings -> System Update

If that does not work and you receive a 'data not applicable' error message follow the tutorial below..

You need to install the CFW PUP from the PS3 Recovery Menu. To do that, follow these steps:

1. Ensure the PS3UPDAT.PUP is in /PS3/UPDATE/ on your USB device.

2. Switch off the PS3.

3. Now press and hold the power button, the system will startup and shutdown again.

4. Release the power button, then press & hold power again, you will hear one beep followed by two consecutive beeps, this means you are in recovery mode!

5. Release power then follow the on-screen instructions. You’re now in the recovery menu.

6. Connect the USB device and select “System Update.”

Now if you want to install the OFW(Official firmware) you follow the same steps as how to install CFW(Custom firmware) and if the first method does not work then use the second method! CFW CAN BE REMOVED BY USING THE METHOD.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON THE v1.2 CFW BY KAKAROTO

1. This CFW does not modify the kernel in any way, meaning all the current compiled homebrew out there will not install or run using “Install Package Files” from the XMB.

2. As the kernel is untouched in this CFW it will not enable you to play pirated/back up'd games!

3. Current PS3 homebrew and new homebrew will need to be “retail” packaged and signed!

How to install .PKG files

1. Download the .PKG you want.

2. Put the pkg in the root from a USB thumb drive

3. Insert the USB thumb drive in your PS3

4. Under the XMB Game menu select “Install Package Files.”

5. Enjoy

3.install the 1.05 patch for blus/bles (blus included)
4. useing filemanager go to game folder then usdir folder (not games or gamez) replace the eboot.bin and t5mp_ps3f
5.go into the english folder within usdir and replace the common_zombie_patch
6. exit and restart ps3
7.start up zombies and if you can jump high and ur cross hairs are red it worked
works for 3.55 dont know about other cfw
